TRUAD SUSTAINABLE

Recycled and reclaimed timbers, carefully reworked to create lasting, considered spaces and pieces.

Truad is our sustainability-focused arm of Stonehaven Furniture and Building Supplies Boorowa, driven by a deep commitment to recycled and locally milled timbers. We take a considered and responsible approach to building - prioritising thoughtful material selection, increasing energy efficiency, and actively reducing environmental impact in every project we undertake.

WHAT WE DO

Reclaimed Timber

Reclaimed timber comes from more individual and often unexpected sources, salvaged pieces that would otherwise be lost. This can include feature slabs, trees removed from properties, or unique one-off materials.

Each piece carries its own history and character. Through careful selection and processing, reclaimed timber is given a second life, transforming overlooked materials into something functional, considered, and lasting.

Recycled Timber

Recycled timber typically comes from structural sources such as bridges and large-scale infrastructure. These materials have already served a purpose and are now carefully recovered and prepared for reuse.

Often made up of durable native hardwoods, recycled timber can be repurposed in its existing form or milled to suit new applications. It offers strength, character, and a practical way to extend the life of a valuable resource.

WHAT WE DO

Timber Milling

Recycled and reclaimed timber often requires careful processing before it can be reused.

Through milling, these materials can be transformed into usable forms, whether that’s maintaining their original character or reshaping them to suit new applications.

Bridge timbers, for example, may be reused in their existing form or milled down depending on the needs of the project and the available stock.

Every piece is assessed individually, ensuring it’s used in a way that respects both its integrity and its potential.

Why it matters

Timber is a unique material, it grows, it adapts, and it continues to live long after it has been harvested.

When managed sustainably, trees are a renewable resource. As they grow, they produce oxygen and store carbon. When used in building, they bring warmth, strength, and natural character that no manufactured material can replicate.

Recycling, reclaiming, and repurposing timber is about recognising that value and ensuring it isn’t lost.
